Ladies and Gentlemen, We Have a Crawler

Eileen had begun to move around a couple of weeks ago.

Last week, she began to really get around.

The child is MOBILE.

The girl is FAST.

Looks like David and I are in trouble...

Fourth of July Weekend

To celebrate the Fourth, we went to Tennessee to visit my family.

Everyone in Tennessee was SO happy to see Eileen.  They said that they were glad to see David and me too.

My parents have a swimming pool, and Eileen LOVED splashing around with her daddy, mommy, and Aunt Amy.

On July 2nd, we went to the Page reunion.

Eileen with her cousin Will Page.  Will's grandfather Roger and Eileen's grandfather (my dad) are first cousins and grew up together like brothers.
Cousin Paige, David, and Eileen
Before you ask, her Paige's name is NOT (and never was) Paige Page.   Her momma wouldn't do that to her.
Eileen and me before the reunion
Of course, no trip to Tennessee would be complete without a visit to the local Super Walmart.

We went to buy Eileen a walker for my parents' house.

We celebrated the Fourth with the Wehbys (my mom's family) in Nashville.

Look at the look she's giving my dad... LOVE IT!  It's like she's 7 months
going on 17.

David, Eileen, and I stayed with my Aunt Diane and Uncle Lee.  Luckily, their beautiful home was where the family was gathering.

Eileen got Uncle Lee to let her "walk"

All dressed up for the 4th!
Eileen was NOT shy, and she seemed to have a great time with her family in Nashville.

We got to visit for five days, but it's never long enough.  We can't wait to see everyone again!

Where Have I Been?

Hi!

I just got back from the beach!

Eileen was ready to go to the beach

She even tried to climb out of her crib

We stopped to eat at Mellow Mushroom on the way.

I know that you're not supposed to eat at a chain pizza restaurant when you go to the beach, but David and I loved eating at Mellow when we were law students at the University of Alabama, and we try to eat at the Mellow in Foley whenever we can.  Also, Mellow Mushroom usually doesn't have a wait like many of the seafood restaurants do.
Eileen and me.  She was SO well behaved in her high chair!

We stopped at Publix (see, we hit all of the wonderful, fun things that you no longer take for granted when you live in the middle of nowhere!) to buy baby food.

Eileen was given her FIRST BALOON!

She loved it.

I also worked a lot at the law office and even went to court in Mobile on Friday...

We went on a Steele family vacation with David's parents, his grandparents, and his aunt & uncle and their five kids.

Ladies and gentlemen, we have a crawler

Eileen with her cousins Hudson & Eli at Tacky Jack's
Eileen found out how to crawl under an end table.  She liked being "hidden" under there.

Deda crawled down there to play with her.

After all of her crawling and pulling up, Eileen had worked up quite an appetite.

This is her enjoying some delicious Spinach baby food .

It rained all weekend, but we still had a great time.  Eileen loved playing with her family- what a lucky little girl!

Sorry for the Absence

It's been a very busy time for us and I haven't gotten around to blogging. I have rather time-consuming work obligations through Wednesday, and then I promise to give you an update on where we've been and what we have been doing.

To add to our hectic schedule, Eileen has become VERY mobile.  She is not crawling in the traditional manner, but she can get anywhere she wants to go, and she can get there fast.  Looks like she's going to be a handful!

In the meantime, here's some Eileen cuteness:
