Eileen still exhibits some anxiety when she's not being held by Mommy or Daddy, but by Saturday afternoon she had begun to really enjoy everyone.

Baby Loves Technology

Eileen has recently become obsessed with all things technological.

I'm sure it's because David and I are constantly connected to something electronic, and she wants to emulate us.

But I like to pretend that it's because she is brilliant.

Eileen loves the remote control...

And she is intrigued by our laptops.

She likes to Skype with our family in Tennessee.

This is right before Eileen ripped the "Shift" key off of David's keyboard.

I know it's not technology, but Eileen also loves books.

She doesn't know how to love them as they're intended to be loved, but Eileen really, really likes her books.

Eileen also likes the phone.  It must be yummy.

She especially likes when she hits the speakerphone button so that the phone makes a loud dial tone noise.

Eileen was all over the Wii remote and nunchuk.

(Eileen gave David the Wii for his first Father's Day.  He got it early because Eileen and I are both terrible at keeping secrets.)

And she was very into the BluRay player that David disconnected when he set up the Wii.

Finally, Eileen was thrilled to help David get his Wii ready to play.

What a tech-savvy baby!

Eileen's Great-Grandparents

Last Wednesday, Memommy and Grandaddy Don came up from Mobile to have lunch with us and to visit Eileen.

They brought her a Mother Goose book, which she already loves.  They also bought her a pretty purple dress that she will wear as soon as I attack my pile of ironing.  Lucky baby!

On Monday night, we had supper with David's parents.  Grown-up supper time coincided with Eileen's supper time (6:30 PM), so Chichi fed her.  Chichi is much neater when she feeds Eileen than I am.  Must be the three generations of practice...

Eileen is such a lucky little girl to have wonderful, healthy great-grandparents who love to spoil her!

Eileen Goes to the Doctor

Eileen went to see Dr. Powell for her six-month checkup today.

Eileen and David at the doctor's office

She weighed in at 19 pounds and was 27.25 inches long, the 90th and 87th percentiles, respectively.  Big girl!

At home, unscathed by her shots

Eileen handled her shots like a champ.  She barely cried.  I'm pretty sure that she was more angry about being held down than about the needle pricks.

Eileen is trying to properly crawl...

Mostly, she just scoots around on her bottom.

When we got home this afternoon, Eileen began babbling.  She talked to us nonstop until she fell asleep!
