David Builds Eileen's Wagon

The Easter Bunny brought Eileen a red wagon for Easter.

However, the wagon came in a box.  Unassembled.

Assembly is a job for Super Dad- David.

Eileen and I watched supervised.

There were a lot of parts in that box.

Real men read instructions

...sometimes, they read them twice

Eventually, they all came together.

And Eileen LOVES her wagon!

Five Months Old

On Friday, April 22, Eileen turned five months old!

She is getting SO BIG!

Eileen weighed in at 17 pounds, 1 ounce.

She can roll from back to tummy and from her tummy to her back.

She likes to sleep on her tummy sometimes, which is quite a change.

Eileen can sit up unassisted for a few seconds before she falls over.  She loves to sit up!  The Bumbo seat is a favorite now.

Eileen is also really, really alert.  She loves to "watch" cartoons, and she follows her mom around with her gaze.  She has begun to reach for Mommy whenever she wants to be held.

She is cutting her two bottom teeth and is chewing on everything!

Eileen loves to look at herself in the mirror... I'm not sure she knows that it's her reflection, but she loves the baby that she sees.

Eileen reaches out and grabs for everything around her.  She's still so curious.

Eileen is a ham.  She grins anytime a camera is around!

And her favorite place to hang out is on her Daddy's shoulders.

They also love to nap together.

Happy Five Months to a sweet, sweet, baby girl!

Eileen's First Easter

Eileen's first Easter was WONDERFUL!

The Easter Bunny came and brought her a brand new wagon and several nice chew toys teethers.

Her Sittie and Grandaddy (my parents) gave her a nice big bag full of gifts including a glowing seahorse, stacker toy, and her first set of blocks.  Memommy and Grandaddy Don gave her a beautiful bunny rabbit, and Chichi and Deda gave Eileen money for Easter.  Aunt Lisa and Uncle Hines had a beautiful Easter basket painted for Eileen that she will enjoy for years to come.  Mumsie and Daddy Dave were at the beach, so their easter gift for Eileen will be opened when they return.  Aunt Amy sent Eileen a set of Peter Rabbit books that we cannot wait to read to her.

Eileen is one lucky little girl!

We went to Chichi and Deda's for a delicious Easter dinner with the Steele family.
Cousins Jack, Adam, Hudson, Eli, and Kendall

It was also Hudson Steele's 11th birthday!

Garden

Last weekend, we finally started putting our garden together.

Eileen hung out in her carrier while we worked

David drove the fence posts and we stretched wire for the tomatoes to grow on.

Honestly, David did most of the work.  I guess I was more the "idea" person.

Tomatoes!
Lucy and Beau watched us from their nearby pen.  Lucy hammed it up for the camera.  Beau was ticked off to be in the pen and wouldn't let me take his picture.

The (much-needed) physical activity must have made us all tired.  Eileen went to sleep early on Sunday!

Sleeping baby, happy mama!
