Party Time

Err, I mean Potty Time.

No, I am not some supermom whose sixteen month old is potty trained.  Frankly, we can't manage to find a weekend that's not "booked" during which to being the process of potty training.

Eileen LOVES her potty though.  She likes to go sit on it before and after her bath.

Reading up on Libertarianism.  Smart girl.

Lately, Eileen's been sitting on all kinds of boxes and buckets as if they were potties.  This makes me think that the training process is going to be easy, but I know better than to get my hopes up.

No, that's not a potty!
Lots of magazines, but that's not a potty either!
Eileen's holding the phone while pretending to potty reminds me of something funny about my parents' house.  It was built in the mid 1980s, so maybe that is the reason for this oddity...  In the upstairs master bathroom, the sink/vanity area is in a separate area from the tub and toilet, which are in their own room.  In the tub/toilet room, there are no electrical outlets.  There is, however, a phone jack located directly across from the toilet.  I'm giving my dad credit for that one- no woman would ever think ahead like that about having a phone near the potty!

The Dog Whisperer

Eileen's favorite thing to do is to go outside and play with "Beau!"

Beau, of course, refers to both Beauregard and Lucy.  She calls both dogs Beau.

Yesterday, she imitated Lucy's pant by going "hah, hah, hah" and then she got down on hands and knees and put her face in the dog food bowl to imitate Lucy eating.  I regret that I was laughing too hard to get a video.  The kid keeps me on my toes!

How Do You Sit in Your Chair?

For her first birthday, Eileen received a Pottery Barn Anywhere Chair.  She loves "her" chair.

The chair also serves as a "fort."
And she can turn it upside down for a different way to sit:

Finally, Eileen uses the chair as a pillow for resting:
At least the chair is versatile!

Fashionista

Lately, Eileen has been expressing her opinion about what she wants to wear.  I didn't know this would happen so soon- she just turned sixteen months old!  Eileen wants to wear a jacket.  Or a cardigan.  Every day.  Even though it's been in the upper 80's lately.

She chose a purple cardigan to wear on a walk when it was 80ish degrees outside...

And she wore a navy cardigan to coordinate with her bloomers for her 15 month checkup.

Eileen accessorized with this yellow knit cardigan for her recent trip to the beach.  It was around 85 degrees.

And she wore a pink cardigan last week when it was 87 degrees.  Eileen wants you to know that the hot pink of the cardigan exactly matched the flowers in the print of her outfit.

Today, it was a bit cooler.  Highs only in the low 80s.  So Eileen again wore her hot pink cardigan.
She also accessorized with dip from the tortilla chips she was eating.

Isn't she a perfect little fashionista?

The Beach

Today's rainy weather makes me want to think about our trip to the beach last weekend, where it was sunny and the weather was perfect!

Eileen checked out the lagoon as soon as we got to the beach.  She loved putting her toes in the sand!
She also enjoyed the frisbee that came with her kid's meal at supper...
Eileen wasn't so crazy about wearing her swimsuit at first.  However, she got happy after she realized that Mommy and Aunt Amy were also wearing swimsuits.
She fell fast asleep on the beach in her beach tent.  The gentle breeze and ocean sound were perfect- I wish we could have that at home.

Eileen only wanted to hang out with her Aunt Amy while we were at the beach.
At Bahama Bob's

Eileen was sure to wear her green for St. Patrick's Day!  She spent most of the afternoon playing on the deck at the beach house.
And she ended her trip by snuggling up with Aunt Amy (her new favorite person).

Babies Gone Wild

We just got back from the beach.  David, Eileen and I went to meet Aunt Amy on her spring break.

Eileen had a WILD time.  She danced on the table at the restaurant-

Eileen has recently started some Girls Gone Wild behavior (that we cannot help but laugh at).

Every time we put a camera in her face at the beach, she grinned, said "CHEESE!", and lifted her shirt.

We have no idea where she learned to do this... and I'm sure she kept doing it because we all laughed when she did it.  It's just one of those behaviors that you pray she doesn't do at church or at school.
