Eileen's First Egg Hunt

On Saturday, our church hosted a luncheon for the children and an egg hunt.  It was Eileen's FIRST egg hunt.

The lunch was so cute- there were sandwiches shaped like bunnies, carrots, and eggs, there were all kinds of cookies, and there were some delicious dips.

David and I had practiced egg hunting with Eileen the week before Easter, but she really didn't get the point.  She did, however, like the chocolate candy inside!

David's mom and her friend Mrs. Mary came to watch Eileen hunt eggs.  They got to see Eileen's unique form of egg hunting: she found one egg and then refused to look for any more.  She just threw and chased her one egg around the lawn.

Chasing the egg again.

After the egg hunt, we wanted to show Mrs. Mary the inside of the church- it's so pretty.  Father Tony was so sweet and opened the church just for her to look around.

Eileen had a great time playing with Father Tony... let's hope she doesn't get any ideas about running up to the altar during mass!

We took a family picture after the egg hunt.  This was the only one where Eileen was looking at the camera.

All in all, it was a great day.  Eileen had SO MUCH FUN!

Book Worm... or Couch Potato

David and I both love to read. More accurately, we loved to read before we went to law school.  And we really hope that Eileen will also love to read.  It looks like she does!

However, she also loves watching TV from her anywhere chair.
She loves to get comfortable on the couch.
 And in the floor.

The little girl certainly knows how to kick back!

Farm Girl

We sort of live in the country now.  Not as "in the country" as I would like, but we're definitely not right in town anymore.

Eileen loves to go outside and pitches a fit when she is made to come back inside.

She chases around Beau and Lucy.  And feeds them treats.

Eileen also loves the horses, Princess and Gray.  She is a little bit intimidated by their size, so she lets Mommy feed them treats.

When Eileen gets too tired to walk but still wants to be outside, she usually goes for a ride in her little red wagon.

Usually I would complain about the nine-month-long summer in south Alabama.  But Eileen's love of the outdoors (and the great night's sleep that playing outside for hours causes) has helped me to see the blessing in our unrelenting, hot, sunny summers.

Popcorn!

One of Eileen's favorite snacks is popcorn.  She is NOT shy about digging in...

We like to pop our popcorn on the stove and then we usually share out of a big, blue bowl.  Eileen gets so excited when she hears the popcorn pop.

Popcorn time is one of the few times when she will sit still beside us on the couch.  Well, she sort of sits still...

After popcorn time is over, it's usually "Mommy vacuums the floor" time.

Funny Face

I caught Eileen making a funny face- she's such a little show-off!!!

Babysitters

This past weekend, David was in a good friend's wedding in Monroeville.  Since we were going to be gone most of the weekend for wedding festivities, my parents agreed to come down and watch Eileen for us.

She had a MARVELOUS time.  Nothing like being spoiled by grandparents for a few days...

They played outside until Eileen was literally worn out...
And they watched Yo Gabba Gabba...
And Eileen went to bed really early for them- she was on her best behavior!

On Sunday, Eileen even wore a bow in her hair for church.  That's usually something she will not tolerate.

It was a great visit and we can't wait to see them again soon!

Camera Phone

Eileen definitely "gets" that phones can take pictures.

So, when she's not talking on her hot pink phone, she is holding it up, pointing it at someone, and saying "CHEESE!"

I am amazed by how quickly she "gets" technology.
Also, I love that she's such a girly girl.  She rarely goes anywhere without a "purse".
