Obsessed with Daddy's Things

Lately, Eileen has been fascinated by David's stuff.
She loves to wear his camouflage hat.

She goes into his closet and pulls out all of his shoes.  And his hats.
She also imitates Daddy- sitting in her armchair and clicking through the tv channels...
This is not Daddy imitation- at least not a post-college daddy imitation- but the pictures of Eileen walking around in her diaper "double-fisting" with two sippy cups are too hilarious and have to be shared.

And she likes to carry around his slippers.

It's the cutest thing!

12 Month Doctor's Appointment

On Thursday, Eileen had her 12 month doctor's appointment.

Watching Yo Gabba Gabba on the iPad during the drive to Monroeville.
Unrelated note:  The iPad is being held up for Eileen's viewing by the iLatch case.  It. Is. Awesome. and it absolutely saved our day!  Also, the iLatch inventor is a Monroeville native, which is the only reason that I am ahead of the curve on getting one :)

Even though she got five (!) shots, she was so cheerful and was a delightful little patient.

Our 6 lb. 9 oz., 20.25" newborn is now a 22 lb. 8 oz., 31.5" one year old!  She's in about the 75th percentile for weight and in the 98th percentile for height.  Eileen has grown 1.5" since her 9 month appointment!

Eileen loved smiling for Ms. Monta (Dr. Powell's nurse) and for Dr. Powell- she really enjoyed the attention she got during her check-up.

And she didn't cry much during her shots.

She did love having her temperature taken with the ear thermometer.  After her shots, Ms. Monta took her temperature two more times to get her smiling again.

After the appointment, we fed Eileen her favorite lunch- chicken strips and french fries.

And she played at the law office all afternoon.  She isn't acting like the shots bothered her, but I'm hoping they will cause her to sleep soundly tonight!

Big Girl

Our Big Girl likes to...

Wear her tutu.

 Play with her blocks.

Feed herself at the dining room table.

Play with her tent and crawl in her tunnel.

Ride on her toys.

Sit in her chair.
Play on Mommy's computer.
Eat Cheerios from her snack cup.

Wear her birthday hat, a week after her birthday.

 Sleep in Mommy's lap.

1 Year Pictures

Last Tuesday, we had Eileen's 12 month old pictures taken.  They were supposed to be done on her birthday, but Eileen had a bug bite on her face and we had to reschedule.

They turned out great- you can see them here by clicking on the Eileen Steele 1 yr. folder and using password es1458.

Eileen started out being a little shy, but once she realized that her picture was being taken, she began hamming it up by grinning and exclaiming "CHEESE!"

The pictures turned out wonderfully- we are even using one on our Christmas cards:

Eileen's Actual Birthday (The Celebration on Nov. 22)

On Eileen's actual birthday, we had another celebration.
Eileen wearing the precious Christmas outfit from Aunt Lisa and Uncle Hines... and running off with Daddy's iPhone
This time, we celebrated her Mumsie's birthday!  Mumsie's birthday is actually Nov. 25, but we wanted to celebrate while Thomas was still home so she could have both of her sons present at her party.

Before the party, we took Chichi & Deda's Christmas card picture at the Sanders house.

Eileen dancing for David and Uncle Thomas
The Christmas picture- all nine of us are smiling and nobody blinked!
I think Aunt Lisa had to take about 50 shots to get this one.

Then we took Mumsie & Daddy Dave's Christmas card picture.

Finally, it was party time!

Mumsie and Daddy Dave kicked off the party by bringing Eileen a birthday present- a rocking horse!  It's beautiful.  A little big for her now, but she likes to ride with "help" and will LOVE it as she gets older.

We ended the night with everyone watching Eileen dance around in her tutu and play with her new toys.
